Supervision Approach

Chelsea smiling with long brown hair in a blue shirt sitting on a dark gray armchair next to a floor lamp in a bright room.

My approach is a blended model that places significant emphasis on cultivating genuine therapeutic relationships, ethical conduct, self-awareness, self-care, professional identity, and effective clinical skills.

Similar to my approach as a therapist, my supervision approach is collaborative and eclectic in style, meaning I adapt my approach based on your strengths, needs, and goals. It's normal for my approach to evolve along with your growth in your role. Over time, I may gradually adopt a more hands-off stance, giving you space to step into your own power and learn to trust your clinical instincts.

( Regardless of approach, you can expect me to be respectful, honest, kind, and receptive to feedback. )

While clinical supervision isn't therapy, given the intimate nature of our profession, self-awareness and reflection is crucial. As needed, you'll receive support to delve into your own thoughts and behaviors, identifying any patterns or barriers that might impede your effectiveness with certain clients. Additionally, our meetings can serve as valuable opportunities for learning and growth, using our direct experiences as teachable moments to enhance self-awareness and gain clinical insight.

Ultimately, I want supervisees to feel confident, competent, and empowered in their professional identity. Throughout our time together, I will support you to self-supervise and utilize your resources so that you can continue to thrive as an independent professional.
