About Chelsea

I believe therapy works best when both of us can show up as real humans. My style is grounded, compassionate, and collaborative—and I’ll always encourage you to be yourself, not a version you think you’re “supposed” to be.

My work is rooted in a relational psychodynamic approach and contemplative psychotherapy, with influences from Buddhist psychology. Depending on your needs, I may also draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), somatic interventions, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD.

In practice, this means therapy that is evidence-based, trauma-informed, and held with cultural humility. I aim to help people reconnect with their inherent capacity for clarity, compassion, courage, and steadiness.

I specialize in working with adults navigating anxiety, OCD, ADHD, grief, identity exploration, life transitions, and the impacts of oppressive systems. While much of my work centers queer and transgender clients, I strive to offer an open, affirming space for all adults. I currently work exclusively with adults living in Michigan.

What to Expect

Our work will start with slowing down and getting curious—about what you’re experiencing, what matters to you, and how your mind and nervous system respond to stress. I don’t rush to give advice or quick fixes. I don’t see you as broken. And I won’t minimize your pain.

I’ll walk alongside you as a guide, pointing you toward your own insight and resilience. When it’s helpful, I’ll share my perspective or offer education about the brain and nervous system—always with your consent. If we’re working with OCD, I do take a more structured and directive approach, as ERP is most effective with clear guidance and strong psychoeducation.

Regardless, I strive to meet you where you are, move at your pace, and offer care and honest guidance so therapy feels both supportive and meaningful.

(A Regular Human, Too)

Outside the therapy office, I’m usually at home with my little family—my spouse, our terrific toddler, our two dogs (Lucy and Winston), and a toothless cat (Gigi).

Lately, life looks like gardening, playing with my son and soaking in his magic, collecting plants, and generally meep-mooping around the house. I’m often adventuring with the dogs, hanging out in the yard, thrifting, or wandering garden centers. And, when there’s time: RuPaul’s Drag Race 💅

I have a soft spot for old things, good vegetarian food, and unhinged memes.
